This Mets offseason has been filled with rumors of a Jay Bruce trade. Ranging from the Cincinnati Reds to the Toronto Blue Jays, Jay Bruce trade rumors have been a lot more popular than Bruce himself.
Could a trade of Bruce be close?
According to Mike Puma of the New York Post, the Mets may be down to two teams with an interest in the left-handed slugger:
The Giants and Rangers are among the teams that could still look to acquire Bruce, who hit 33 homers last season, but was a disappointment in his two-month stint with the Mets after arriving at the trade deadline from Cincinnati.
Sandy Alderson has a lot of time to make a trade, but his asking price may be getting in the way, with his unwillingness to eat part of Bruce’s salary. Only time will tell if Bruce is on the Mets come Opening Day.
