Where to Sit at Citi Field: The Complete Mets Seating Guide

May 30, 2026

Citi Field has a seat for every kind of Mets fan, from the clubs behind home plate to the upper Promenade decks. This guide walks through the levels, where the sun and shade fall during a game, and how the premium clubs compare, so you can pick a seat that fits how you actually want to watch the game.

The levels at a glance

Citi Field stacks from Field Level (the 100s) at the bottom up through the upper Promenade decks (the 300s, 400s, and 500s). A couple of structural details matter most when you choose a seat:

  • The upper Promenade decks (300, 400, and 500 levels) are largely roof-covered, and row 10 and higher is reliably shaded.
  • On Field Level, the back rows benefit from the Excelsior level overhang above them, which adds shade as the afternoon goes on.

Sun and shade at Citi Field

Citi Field is oriented about 35 degrees, so center field points north-northeast. Afternoon sun comes from the south and southwest, which makes the third-base side the shade side, and the first-base side and right field the sun side.

Across a day game the sun tracks from behind right field early, climbs high over home plate around midday, and sets behind the left-field foul pole in the evening. Sun is highest and shade is scarcest from June through August. Spring and fall games give you more shade.

The Promenade upper decks (300, 400, and 500 levels) are largely roof-covered, and row 10 and higher is reliably shaded. The 300 level in right field is the sunniest area of the park on summer day games.

At 1:10 PM Eastern on 2026-07-04, the sun is at compass bearing 187 degrees and 72 degrees altitude. Behind plate: Partial sun. 1st base side: Partial sun. 3rd base side: Sunlit. Right field: Sunlit. Left field: Sunlit.

Sun position is calculated; section shading is a model based on the stadium's orientation and typical sun paths, and is being refined.

Upper deck (300/400/500) is roof-covered, so it stays shaded in row 10 and higher regardless.

The premium clubs

Citi Field has several premium clubs, most of them behind home plate. The short version:

  • Delta SKY360 Club: the all-inclusive club, with the closest seats to the field.
  • Clover Home Plate Club: a home-plate club seat without the all-inclusive package.
  • Hyundai Club: a field-level dining club.
  • Metropolitan Premium: dugout-level seats with Clover Home Plate Club access.
  • Empire Club: a small, speakeasy-styled club.
